For the beef
12 oz ground beef
salt for taste
pepper for taste
1 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning (optional)
1 head of Romaine lettuce chopped
6 pearl tomatoes sliced thin
1/2 cup shredded cheese (add more if you like)
red onions sliced thin. (Add as much as like)
Dressing (double if you like more sauce)
1/4 cup ketchup
1/8 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp lemon juice
1 tbs olive oil
Shape the beef into 1/4 inch patties; I like to make them pretty thin. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and Cajun seasoning. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until done.
Add the ketchup, mayonnaise, lemon juice and olive oil to a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Drizzle a bit of the dressing around the inside of the bowl you will be adding the salad to (this will help to coat the lettuce). You can add the dressing to individual personal bowls or a one big bowl.
Slice the burgers or cut them up into bite size pieces. Add the romaine lettuce and coat with the existing dressing in the bowl. Add the beef patties, onion,tomato, and cheese into the bowl. Drizzle more dressing on top of the salad. Top with croutons if you like!
